Wool Mulch Mats
Suppress weeds, lock in moisture and protect plant roots the natural way. OAKENZ Wool Mulch Mats are 100% natural, biodegradable felted wool mats that sit on top of your potting mix — no plastic, no synthetic fibres, just pure New Zealand wool doing what it does best.
Why Mulch With Wool
Wool is a living material, not a landfill one. A wool mulch mat:
- Suppresses weeds by blocking light to the soil surface
- Holds moisture in the potting mix, so you water less often
- Insulates roots against temperature swings through summer and winter
- Breaks down naturally over time, feeding nitrogen back into the soil
- Contains no plastic, glue or synthetic fibres — safe around pets, kids and edible plants
How It Works
Cut a slit from the edge to the centre of the mat, slide it around the base of the plant so it sits flush against the stem, and lay it directly on top of the potting mix. Overlap smaller mats for larger pots, or trim to fit with scissors.

Care & Lifespan
Wool mulch mats typically last one to two growing seasons outdoors before breaking down — that's by design. As the wool decomposes it releases nitrogen and trace nutrients into the potting mix. Simply top up with a fresh mat when it starts to thin out. No rinsing or special care needed; just let nature do the work.
Protect Your Surfaces. Extend Your Planter Life
OAKENZ liners and corner feet are designed to fit square and rectangular planters of all materials — wood, metal, plastic, or concrete. They prevent leaks, reduce stains, and promote healthier root growth, helping your planters last longer while keeping outdoor surfaces clean and protected.
Why Planters Cause Damage
Planters can trap moisture at the base, leading to staining, rot, and surface damage. Poor drainage can also impact plant health.
Planter Corner Feet
Lift your planter off the ground to improve drainage and protect surfaces.
OAKENZ corner feet create airflow beneath your planter, helping reduce moisture build-up and prevent staining on decks, patios, and paved areas.
Discreet, low-profile design
Supports heavy planters
Suitable for timber, resin, concrete & metal
WHY PLANTERS ROT & DEGRADE
The main cause of planter damage is the direct contact between soil, moisture, and the planter walls.
Over time, this constant exposure leads to staining, rot, and structural breakdown.
OAKENZ liners create a protective barrier between the soil and the planter — reducing moisture absorption and extending the life of the planter.
The OAKENZ Liner Solution
OAKENZ liners solve the root cause of planter damage by creating a protective barrier between soil, moisture, and the planter walls.
This prevents moisture absorption, reduces internal damage, and helps extend the life of the planter.
